Initial Signing - Seven Day Cooling Off period

By law there is a seven day cooling off period after the intial signing of the Compromis de vente. During this 7 days you can withdraw from the sale without penalty. The Seven days starts from when you receive the copy of the signed Compromis. You will generally be given details about the said period and the date before you can change your mind. The withdrawal must be made in writing to the Notaire, and received by recorded delivery to ensure proof of arrival.
